Taylor Patton, RYT-200
I discovered yoga as a freshman in college at UWM when I was looking for an "easy" elective. To my surprise and immediate dismay, the class was anything but. I was incredibly stiff, bad at breathing through my nose and couldn't get out of Savasana fast enough. When asked if I enjoyed yoga, my answer was unequivocally, "nope!" But by the end of the semester, I started seeing (and feeling) changes.
Over a decade later, what started as a strictly physical practice turned into a creative expression of breath, balance and movement. During the pandemic, I graduated from the Shakti Shack & Urban Om RYT-200 program and began a new phase of my journey.
My classes will combine elements of strength and fluidity in a dynamic Vinyasa Flow style. I know yoga means something unique to every student—and that's ok! Whether you come to sweat, breathe or release, my goal is to give students a 60 minute space to explore their own mind/body connection.
