Moving Galaxy Yoga School
300-hour
Advanced Yoga Teacher Training
This 10-month, 1 weekend per month training brings together a dynamic and supportive learning community, over 30 years of practice and teaching experience, a strong commitment to the vital aspects of yoga’s lineage (meditation, chanting, and philosophy), and some of the best teachers in the business. Moving Galaxy Yoga School’s 300-Hour Advanced Yoga Teacher Training is designed to level up your teaching.
This is the yoga teacher training
that your favorite yoga teacher took.
Arranged into 10 modules, running Thursday through Sunday, one long weekend per month, our 300-hour Advanced Yoga Teacher Training can be taken as a 300-hour certifying track, which includes a thesis-style research and writing project, and the creation of a signature stand-alone workshop, created from your thesis research and taught with a peer and teacher feedback component.
If you’d prefer to dip into certain weekend subjects, you’re welcome to drop in for a weekend and receive CE credits.

The Modules
All sessions meet Thursday 7-9:30, Friday 5:45-9:30, Saturday 9-6, and Sunday 9-6
WISDOM | Oct 2-5 2025
Our foundational training module explores:
How we represent and honor the concept of lineage
The Namaskars
Sequencing via principles of the Vinyasa Krama
The philosophical framework of the Yoga Sutras
Developing and re-connecting to the anchor of a personal practice
And more! It’s a connection to the foundations of the practice that sets the stage for all the learning to come.
WISDOM explores the concepts of “advanced practice,” and invites a deeper dive into both the philosophy and practice of yoga. We’ll explore:
The Bhagavad Gita and the Hatha Yoga Pradipika.
How to sequence, practice and teach Advanced Asana (even if those poses aren’t a part of your practice)
The history and practice of Tantric yoga and its associated kriyas
CURIOSITY | Nov 20-23 2025
CURIOSITY is an immersion in anatomy, alignment, strength, and mobility practices, to help illuminate a holistic picture of ourselves and our students. We’ll explore:
Practical understanding of anatomy through isolation, activation, strength, and integration practices
Creative sequencing through strength and mobility
Client and self alignment assessments
Creating a “longevity” practice
CREATIVITY | Dec 12-15
CREATIVITY is an exploration of the art of sequencing! But we’ll actually focus toward and beyond the goal of a just a “creative” sequence, to explore how to sequence in a way that feels more than creative, but useful, grounding, and affirming for our students. We’ll also look at the history of sequencing according to the main lineages of the modern yoga tradition, and explore the how and why of those maps - illuminating not just an understanding of the alchemy of class creation, but grounding it in a firm understanding of the roots of the yoga tradition.
CONNECTION | Jan 9-12, 2025
CONNECTION is all about hands-on assists: the art of nourishing, affirming, grounding, space-making, and connecting. Along with learning assists, we’ll touch on best practices for consent, feedback, and differences between assisting styles. We’ll channel these skills into guiding one-on-one sessions, and offering hands on assists apprentice-style with Anna in her public classes.
INTUITION| Feb 20-23, 2025
INTUITION follows the intuitive maps brought to us by the Tantric yogis. Our main focus is the chakra system and its associated kriyas, but we’ll discover marma points, nadis, vayus, and even myofascial meridians as we explore.
HEART | Mar 13-16, 2025
Devotional chanting, pranayama, and the anatomy of the breath all combine to form this module that helps you to discover not just your chanting voice, but to discover your innate teacher’s voice, and how the breathing and its associated anatomy support and allow for your voice’s growth and resonance (literally and metaphorically!).
SPACE | Apr 10-13, 2025
This not-to-be missed weekend is a meditation immersion with our own studio meditation anchor, Larry Birkett. Illuminating, deep, nourishing and joyful!
EVOLUTION | May 15-18, 2025
As yoga evolves, we can expland our toolboxes! Learn evolved and variant practice styles such as Restorative, Yin, Kalaripayattu, and even a little Animal Flow.
INTEGRATION | Jun 12-15, 2025
ROOTS | Sept 4-7 2025
This certifying-track unit is not available for drop-in. Teachers in the full certifying program will present their research for their thesis, and teach the signature workshop that they designed from their thesis.
