Deep. Soulful. Authentic.
Deepen your practice and become a teacher with the celebrated Galaxy teachers guiding you.
Moving Galaxy Yoga School’s 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training program is a creative, thoughtful, and heart-centered approach to yoga education.
We are passionate about the multi-dimensional experience of yoga: asana (poses), pranayama (breathing), meditation, and sangha (community).
We go deep into understanding the yoga tradition by beginning with a 5-week practice immersion. Those who complete the practice immersion will have an immersive knowledge of the practice, philosophy, and anatomy of yoga, so that they are comfortable creating a home practice for themselves.
We connect you to the spirit, heart and lineage of the teacher.
Continuing to the teachers apprenticeship, you will work closely with celebrated Galaxy teachers and your cohort to uncover well-outlined teaching methodologies, class sequencing resources, classroom management best practices, and practical business and communication skills. You will emerge ready to lead a heart-centered and soulful yoga class from the day you graduate, with feedback and guidance from mentors with over 30 years of combined experience.

Learning about yoga and learning to teach yoga are two separate things.
We believe that the best teachers have a deep, connected personal practice, and pull inspiration from that personal practice. We also believe that people need more time, outside of studio class times, to learn about the multi-dimensional practice of yoga. Over the course of many years training and mentoring teachers, a few things have become clear:
Not everyone who wants to learn everything they can about yoga wants to teach.
Many teachers emerge from teacher training programs without the skills necessary to hold energetic space and skillfully lead students through the transformative practice of yoga.
With that in mind, we’ve created a two-part training program that culminates with a 200-hour, Yoga Alliance approved certifying diploma. But it starts with….
The Practice Immersion
Next cohort begins March 2023
The Path of Practice
The goal of the practice immersion is to deepen our understanding of the multi-dimensional practice of yoga. We’ll break down asanas, dive into anatomy, uncover the historic and philosophical foundations of the practice, as well as meditate, breathe, and chant.
This portion of our training program is a non-certifying track - but anyone graduating from the program will be able to confidently create a well-sequenced and biomechanically sound home practice for themselves, as well as have substantial meditation, pranayama, and philosophical understanding of the tradition of yoga.
From here, those who wish to continue along the path of the teacher will progress to our Yoga Alliance approved, 200-hour certifying Teacher’s Apprenticeship.
The Teacher’s Apprenticeship
The Path of the Teacher
After completing part one, The Practice Immersion, interested teachers-to-be can continue to our Teachers Apprenticeship. Here, you’ll learn how to be an energetic guide for your students, and dive into principles of communication, classroom management, sequencing, creating classes, hands-on assists, ethics, and best business practices. You’ll also work closely with a Lead Teacher to observe, assist and teach in their studio classes. Final certifying requirements to register as a 200-hour Yoga Alliance certified teacher include three teaching practicums with feedback, a multiple choice test and a short answer exam.
