We’re diving into prana, and moving the energy around in the Galaxy this month - it might get a little muddy and windy, but it’s time to wake up from our winter hibernation and embrace the waters of March.

This month in the Galaxy, we’re exploring props as conduits of support, resource-sharing, and as a little physically expression of love for each of you, when you come to the studio.

January is Meditation month, and I’m meditating on being perfectly imperfect, how that translates to my experience as a runner, and what that all has to do with Zorba the Greek.

This December, we’re honoring the light within - and leaning in a little closer to help light up others.

This September in the Galaxy, we're diving back into the Yoga Sutras, and in this Dispatch, Anna's exploring concepts of dualism, Purusha and Prakriti, and sitting on the beach, abiding in her own true nature.

This month in the Galaxy, we explore the stories and myths of the asanas, and I write an episodic and meandering musing on identity.

Riffing off of the Irish quote: “It is in the unexpected place that you will find the lobster,” we’re exploring the yogic texts that you have to search a little harder to uncover and understand.

The Gita tells us that reality is earth, water fire, air, space, mind, intellect and ego. Reality is the field and the knower of the field. Reality is Woodstock, and reality is Joni Mitchell writing about Woodstock, having never attended. June is for exploring our symbiotic relationship with the elements around and in us!

This month we’re using energetic road maps like chakras to prioritize our direct experience as yogis - and not seeking out external approval like BKS Iyengar smiling down from the clouds at our perfect alignment ;)

We’re celebrating the power of poetry this April in the Galaxy!

March is celebrating the creative, dynamic and generative force of Shakti - the divine feminine.

February is for Kama and letting yourself be silently drawn by the stronger pull of what you really love (to quote Rumi).

This January, we’re going easy on the resolutions, and closer to the fire of Tejas!

December is for Bhakti - devotion and personalization of one’s relationship to the divine. And singing. We’re singing, too.

It’s so many thank yous. Your name might be in there…

In October, we’re integrating our shadow selves and contemplating our death to help live our lives more meaningfully. And maybe watching Tim Curry as IT, if we’re brave enough.

September is “back to school,” and we’re honoring the path of endless learning by diving back into the Yoga Sutras here at The Moving Galaxy!
