B Florence, CYT - 500

Hi friends! You can call me B (they/she.) I started practicing yoga in 2009 when I moved to Milwaukee. I have a BFA degree in acting and a minor in creative writing from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee where I worked as a TA for the Peck School of the Arts’ Theatre Department. I worked as a professional actor, director, and playwright in the Milwaukee area for many years after graduating from UWM, and I love using my theatre background to bring a sense of goofiness, spontaneity, and sincerity to my yoga practice.

I am a 500-hour certified yoga teacher, and earned my 200-hour yoga teacher training certificate through Yoga Six and my 300-hour certificate with Shakti Shack (now known as Moving Galaxy!) My thesis for my 300-hour training focused on trauma and the vagus nerve; I am fascinated by the human nervous system and our innate ability to heal. I love using my yoga practice as a way to both stimulate and comfort my nervous system, and find it to be an excellent outlet for self-expression.

When you take a class with me, you can expect time and space for playfulness and creativity within your own practice. I strive to make yoga and movement accessible to every body, and will always offer several options and modifications.

When I’m not working, I love spending time outdoors, camping, swimming, paddling, eating, travelling, and cuddling with my cats Cici and Guapo.
